At Mangrove Integrated, we believe in a holistic and collaborative approach to your child’s development and wellbeing. Our mission is to support children and their families in understanding developmental delays, building connection, resilience and confidence through play-based neurodevelopmental therapy.
We view development, movement, sensory processing, and emotions as interconnected systems that shape how children move, think, and thrive. By working with these core systems, we meet each child exactly where they are—uncovering underlying causes and highlighting strengths.
Working from a developmental approach means understanding a child through the lens of how they grow, learn, and build skills over time — not through labels, behaviours, or isolated difficulties. Our focus is on the whole child, their development, relationships and the foundations that underpin learning and participation.
Our approach is rooted in neuroscience, delivered through play, and led with compassion. Using evidence-based assessments & strategies we gently navigate challenges, always operating under the principle "that when we strengthen what lies beneath, we support everything above".

I am Dr Leigh‑Anne Davies PhD, a Developmental Therapist and the founder of Mangrove Integrated. With over 25 years of experience across therapeutic, educational, and clinical practice, my mission is to bridge the gap between rigorous science and compassionate care.
My practice is built on the integration of sensory-motor science, developmental assessment and play, as well as the principles of neuroplasticity. I believe that effective intervention starts early and should be grounded in evidence, yet always delivered with the warmth and playfulness that children need to thrive.
My doctoral research focused on developmental pathways in children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). This understanding of complex, early development continues to shape my practice today, ensuring that every intervention offered is informed by a deep understanding of how young brains grow and adapt and what is needed at that developmental stage.
As a qualified Play Therapist, Auditory Integration Practitioner, and Registered Griffiths III User, I draw upon a diverse range of evidence-based methods. This integrated toolkit allows me to move beyond "one-size-fits-all" offerings, instead creating bespoke support plans that strengthen each child’s unique developmental profile. I am guided by the BPS Code of Ethics and Conduct as a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
Beyond clinical work, I am passionate about empowering the community around the child. I offer specialised workshops for parents, educators, and healthcare professionals, sharing early developmental information and practical, play-based strategies designed to spark lasting, positive change.
